New England

It's a pretty common thing around here to yank ticks off your kids in the spring, summer, and fall. This one was super small, a nymph, about the size of a pencil dot. IMG 5172
In fact, it was so small that we needed a jeweler's loupe to see it's teeny legs. IMG 5173
Luckily, it did not result in Ev getting sick.
I still don't know how my kids have not gotten Lyme disease? I have had it twice in my life, once quite badly. Addy has had it once. Every time my kids act headachey, or say that a part of their body hurts in the warm months, I cringe! Hopefully, I will catch it early when it does happen. For now, I will just keep on being vigilant. I think the respite from constant tick checks is the only upside to winter!
