I love fall, for many reasons.
One of the big ones is finding Praying Mantises.
Truth be told, I love predators.
I adore my Carnivorous Plants, and I love Praying Mantises.
I love my Carnivorous Plants with a side of Mantis…
I love peace lilly's with a twist.
I love finding them on a bush,
and offering up a moth-y snack.
I love when crazy things happen, and a dragonfly sunbathes next to a mantis and I wait, and wait, for a
AND nothing happens!
It's all so good.
Go out today, and find your good!
Just wanted to send a happy update that my Dad was able to have the less invasive procedure of having three stents placed in his affected artery versus a bypass procedure.
He did very well, and having spent one last night in recovery he was sent on his way back into the wild.
He will have to adapt to a new lifestyle with the help of medicine, diet, and exercise.
This will be a little difficult for him as he is not big on change, but I know he can do it…
is normally a good, kind, and big heart…
But a few days ago, it gave him chest pain, and breathlesness.
So my Mom rushed him up to the ER, and it was discovered that he had a near heart attack. His blood pressure was pretty high, and he had an irregular heartbeat. His stress test showed signs of blocked arteries.
He was transferred to Yale, which makes visiting him much easier.
Today he undergoes his angioplasty to see just what is going on.
If he has a simple blockage, he will receive a stent or two. If he has a full blockage, or multiple areas of blockage, then he will be a candidate for bypass surgery.
So we'll just see how it goes.
The kids have been very good, and love to go see him.
They have played pit with him,
and helped him pick out his meals.
Evren even spent his own money buying Grandpa a heart friendly granola bar!
He is in a good place.
And was lucky enough to receive a warning, and not a full blown attack!
As we were leaving, we played by the fountain,
Yale has a very pretty lobby, it makes me want to have a latte and read a magazine.
We decided to take Grandma out for a nice meal, get her a drink, help her relax.
She will be staying with us until my Dad gets released, so the kids have been very happy to have her on a big sleepover!
You just never know what life will throw at you, and the one thing I have learned is that there is nothing more precious and basic than having your health.
