Food drives and lego clubs

Marlin and her amazingly awesome girl scout troop pulled together for a VERY successful food drive.

Even though they had a busy day at the capitol the day before, they still rallied enough gumption to stand out in the cold and collect food and monetary donations for a local often underfunded food pantry.

In the end, the girls took in four teeming shopping carts, and two hundred and twenty dollars for the food bank.

We were all proud of their efforts and the end result.

The food bank was so appreciative, and gave the girls a tour and a detailed explanation what they do for the community.

It kind of rocked.
You can see additional photos here.
Today the boys had their first lego club meeting.

 They both enjoyed themselves,

made great creations,

played with some new kids, and have a really great kit to make more projects with next month.

It's been a good week. It's March, except the weather does not know this. It's like 27 degrees. I can't wait till the end of the month when the winds will blow warmly.
One day....

Wow, this looks wonderful! Giving AND Lego—could your week have been any better?? I say no! :) How inspiring to see the girls making a difference and doing it with joy. And the joy that's coming out of the Lego pics speaks for itself—my boy would love being in your club!

I love what you do with your days. Wish I could come and join you (and Jessica!) on your excellent adventures. I'll have to get my boy cracking on that Instantaneous Matter Transference Transport Machine… :)

Thanks so much for sharing, mamak!
